Camera Shots

Notetaking on Camera Techniques

INTERVIEWING:
• What seven items should you bring with you when you are shooting an interview?

Camera
Tape
Tri pod
Microphone about a hang loose symbol away.
Headphones make sure mic works.
Power source
Light source natural lights or lights in back,  may have to bring own light.

• Shooting into a light source = creates a silohuette

Button to adjust = Back light or add light to front.


• Where do you want your light source? always be behind the camera.


• On what object should you focus the camera?


• No tripod=BAD.


• Date and Time=Do not want on video


• What's the difference between SP/EP?standard play to extended play, goin to ep lets you record more at lower quality.Always shoot in SP

• Camera shoots in ___SP_____________.

• Pre-Roll-3-5 seconds to make sure its rolling


• Post-Roll-same as pre-roll.


CAMERA SHOTS:

***BACKGROUND:

• 1 Shot=middle of the chest to above the head.

• 1 Shot with graphic=

• 2 Shot=only for anchors when interacting

• CU-"close Up"

• MS-Medium Shot

• LS-"LOng Shot"
• ECU-"Extreme Close Up"

• Rule of thirds-Emphasizing main parts .


CAMERA MOVEMENTS:
• Tilt-Moving it up and down.


• Pan-moving camera left or right.


• Zoom-Getting shots that are moving away from you or want to se closer


• Dolly-A physical  movement of the camera in rolling

LIGHTS
• Key-AT 45 degree angle main angle


• Fill-Light on the other side keeps opposite side from shadows


• Back-opposite of key light


MICROPHONES:
• Unidirectional-Microphone pointed in one direction
• Omnidirectional-Picks up nose from all around the area.
• Cardiod-Pick up mostly in front of you not behind.
• Lav/Lapel Microphone-Clipped onto shitrt dont have to hold so easier to use.
• Boom Microphone-
